Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the UKODO Education Scheme (“UKODO”, “we”, “us”), including the Digital Officers programme, the ukodoeduscheme.com website, and any accounts, tools, courses, competitions or communications provided by UKODO (collectively, the “Services”). By ticking the acceptance box, creating an account, or continuing to use the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and legally resident in the Federal Republic of Nigeria to apply. Applications from Delta State residents are prioritised, but participation is open to any qualifying Nigerian.

2. Your account

  • You are responsible for keeping your personal email, official UKODO email, and passwords confidential. Do not share your credentials.
  • Information you submit (name, phone, date of birth, LGA, bank details, uploads) must be accurate, current and belong to you.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account for impersonation, fraud, duplicate submissions, abuse of the referral system, or other breach of these Terms.

3. Programme participation

  • Courses, projects, competitions and stipends are offered at UKODO’s discretion and may change or be withdrawn at any time.
  • Payments (stipends, prize money, seed funding) are made to bank accounts that match your verified identity. We may refuse or reverse payments to mismatched or suspicious accounts.
  • Content you upload (certificates, ZIP/PDF submissions, pitches) remains yours, but you grant UKODO a non-exclusive licence to store, review, and use it for the purposes of running the programme.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading or unlawful information, or impersonate any other person.
  • Upload malware, illegal content, or content that infringes another person’s rights.
  • Attempt to circumvent security, rate limits, verification checks or referral rules.
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other members or staff.

5. Data protection

UKODO processes your personal data in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 (NDPA) and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation. See our Privacy Policy for full details of what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how you can exercise your rights.

6. Retention and deletion

  • Applications that are rejected are deleted within 7 days.
  • Approved applicants who do not log in within 30 days have their data deleted and their Digital Officer serial number reassigned.
  • Accounts inactive for more than 90 days may be archived or deleted after notice.

7. Intellectual property

The UKODO name, logo, curriculum, badges and site content are owned by UKODO. You may not copy, resell or misrepresent them without written permission.

8. Disclaimers

The Services are provided “as is”. We do not guarantee employment, income, prize outcomes, or specific learning results. To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, UKODO is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Services.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, we will bump the version shown at the top of this page and ask you to accept the new version the next time you log in. Continued use after acceptance means you agree to the new Terms.

10. Governing law & contact
